Editing video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.

-Creative, entertaining, funny-lots going on here!
-Some great editing though not quite on brief-e.g the speeded up shots of the props being taken out.
-Middle section is more of a montage but works very well a this.
-Definitely a few YouTube influenced elements!
-Does meet the editing skills in the brief but perhaps needed a little more basic continuity editing.

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.

3) Now reflect on your video. Did you meet the brief and successfully include the three key editing aspects we have learned?

I think i somewhat met the brief as i was able to include some match-on-action and the reverse shots. However i did notice afterwards that there was not much continuity and i partially broke the 180 rule by filming the medium shot from the wrong side.

4) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your final film? Write a detailed analysis picking out specific shots, edits and any other aspect of film language you think is relevant.

I believe my strengths was coming up with a narrative as me and my group were able to quickly set one up o agreements and be able to include a lot of props. Editing also went well where i was able to use the influence of YouTube to put sound effects and music into my film. This could be see where there is a reverse shot of Anas and Ishmeet talking during the montage. There was some aspects like meeting the brief that i think i struggled on as my continuity was a bit off and following the 180 degree rule was difficult as well as confusing when my characters where talking.

5) Learner response: what aspect of editing did you find most difficult? What have you learned from this process that will help you when you start the actual coursework later this year?

The aspect of editing that i found most difficult but didn't relies till screening was following the 180 degree rule. Filming a reverse shot between the two characters looked simple but however when zooming out and focusing on a medium or long shot it could easily break the rule. I filmed from the wrong side of the shoulders making the film look confusing to my audience. When i am doing my course work next year, i will be more careful ad plan out the shots in order to carefully follow these rules.
