Mise-en-scene
1) Find a distinctive still image and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson. The women is seen to be wearing a wedding dress as if she is about to get married or has just made her vows. The colour of white can connote her innocence and youth as wedding are seen as sacred. However the props of a gun and bullet contrast with this idea as they appeal the thought of violence and destruction. This harsh difference highlights how an unexpected event has caused for the bride to have become a solider at war. The setting show a dim living room lit by candles to reveal the genre of horror or thriller. This lighting is able to outline her messy hair and show her torn and dirtied dress. Her make-up seems to be purposely been created to be dark, smudged and quite dirty looking to reflect her hardship she might have gone through or an unexpected event that has occurred making her emotionless a...
